Baroque Goodbye

So to finish the Baroque Motif goodbye, and as Katie & Matthew celebrated their marriage last Saturday here's the card I sent along, in our absence! Who needs an excuse for Glimmer paper, and rhinestones? Not me ;-)

And as it was a stamp set at my fingertips, I made this for a wonderful friend, who was in need of some sparkle for her sensational birthday, so I used the subtles collection of colours. Although Baroque motif and the Sincere Salutations set are retiring, I think they will still be in use as I love swirly entwining patterns, and have used the greetings time and time again.

Baroque Motif Inspiration

So, continuing with the retired stamp set theme, we received a Wedding Party Invite which looked like this . . .

Which gave me an idea for the reply to look like this . . .

I used Basic Black and Very Vanilla card stock, with Black embossing powder for the Baroque motif (IB&C p74) and then the little heart punch (p117) between their initials and a rhinestones for that bit of bling. Unfortunately we can't make this super celebration, so the inside of the card looks like this . . .

Their invite arrived with a wonderfully witty poem about being together and not needing pots and pans, so I couldn't resist replying like this! Any excuse to use the Scallop Trim Border Punch!! Keep on crafting, Gen xxx

Retiring stamp sets

So in a vain attempt to showcase some of the retiring sets here are a couple of cards that I have done recently! This is the fun Under the Big Top set (IB&C p31). As always, a less is more approach, simply stamped with Staz On and coloured in - who can beat it a bit of colouring in ;-)

Also from the same stamp set, here with the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper (IB&C p99  retiring and REDUCED), with a strip of Pacific Point card stock with a simple scalloped punch edge and 1/8" Taffeta Real Red Ribbon tied with a knot on top. Of course, too tempting for me to use my favourite Scallop Trim Corner punch and a couple of rhinestone jewels for a bit of Circus sparkle - well it was my brother's Birthday, and you can never have too much sparkle ;-)

Retired Lists!

It's that time of year again - although even more exciting than usual, as we have the NEW Autumn/Winter Mini launched NOW (see link right for all the fabulous goodies you will NEED), while we await the NEW Idea Book & Catalogue 2012/2013 due out on the 1st October - I can hardly contain my excitement!!

There is a slight difference this year with the retiring items, although I have linked on the right to the Retiring Stamps, there are also Retiring Accessories which you will be able to see clinking the link in the text, (I hope!).

As always, I am running behind with creating lovely things for you to peek on my blog, but hope to be crafting like a mad thing very soon - you heard it hear folks ;-) Keep on crafting, Gen x
