Pearl Anniversary

Today is my brother and sister-in-law's 30th Wedding Anniversary

Congratulations!

There is every chance I haven't quite made the deadline for this card, as I was a little late putting it in the post,
but I'm hoping for the best ;-)

Sending all our love to Aus from the Welsh contingent

Butterfly Beauty, two versions

Somehow my gorgeous niece turned 17 this year! I have to adjust to her July Birthday now being in winter as she lives in Australia! So with the thought of winter and her love of red and black her card this year looks like this . . .

Card stock: Real Red, Black Glimmer and watercolour card
I have used brusho powders for the watercolour background
Accessories: Butterfly Beauty Dies, 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Mini silver sequins and rhinestones.

My UK based gorgeous niece who has a birthday in the summer is loving grey and pink at the moment, so she had a card that looked like this . . .

Colours here: Smoky Slate and Petal Pink
Background of Sparkle Glimmer Paper
Stitched Smoky Slate ribbon (retired)

Keep on crafting,

Loving a Little Lace

Recently there was a Coral (35th) Wedding Anniversary in our family, so another opportunity to play with the Stitched Lace Die and the co-ordinating a Little Lace Stamp Set, really handy when there is a Calypso Coral colour in our palette!

I wanted to keep the colour combination and design simple, I love the way that the scalloped edge of the die and the stamp match up. I also used the scallop die for the edge of the (retired) greeting tag.

Stamp Set: A Little Lace
Card stock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral
Ink: Versa Ink and White embossing powder
Accessories: Stitched Lace Dies

Keep on Card making,

Love Birds

Today, well, what's left of it is my Aunt and Uncle's 61st Wedding Anniversary. It really doesn't seem that a year has passed since we were celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary, where does the time go? Their card this year is a simple affair, with the only stamping being for the greeting inside!

Card stock: Bird Ballad Laser Cut cards, Balmy Blue background, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and copper foil for the heart
Accessories: Frosted Flower Embellishments and Pearls for the flower centres

It's an inspiration to see two still so in love after 61 years,
keep on crafting,

Twins turn 11!

For anyone who has seen my blog before, you may have noticed that each year (usually in June), I show the cards I made for the twins, and somehow this year they turned 11!

I know, I've used retired stamp sets and DSP, but the Night of Navy and Blushing Bride colours are current! As always I bought gifts that they had to work for, origami stars and heart bunting, so matched their cards, with 11 images, hopefully not too corny!

Keep on crafting,
even with retired stock ;-)

Simple Male Birthday card

I am of course, the same as everyone else, and completely unable to throw away off cuts, so here's a couple of examples of the same design to use up some of those off cuts.

I used simple strips of solid coloured card, with a simple star stamp and versa mark just for a little background detail, as I can easily get carried away with embellishment, but wanted to keep it simple ;-)

So with this version I used the Stamps from Birthday Backgrounds with Versa Ink.

Keep on crafting, even with retired items,

Proud Peacock

So the newly released Noble Peacock Suite really took my eye. The Blueberry Bushel, Old Olive and Pretty Peacock colours with the reflective foil and the Designer Series Patterns are far too tempting! In life Peacock Feathers have a wonderfully opulent gold, so I added a little gold embossing powder.

Stamp set: Royal Peacock
Card Stock: Nobel Peacock Speciality DSP, Nobel Peacock Foil Sheets, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Versa Ink & Gold Emboss
Accessories: 3/8" Reversible Ribbon and Nobel Peacock Rhinestones, Stitched Nested Label Dies.

I love the detail of this stamp set, but wanted the breast of the bird to be a little more life like, so my next attempt I used Blueberry Bushel embossing powder and used Pretty Peacock ink with a Blender pen.

Even though I was really pleased with this card I managed to put it into the post without writing on the inside! Oh well, it's the thought that counts ;-)

Keep on card making, but make sure you write inside the card!

Smile with Daisy Lane

As my garden has been left to explore it's wilder side this year, I've been a little overwhelmed by oxide daisies, but this has allowed me to appreciate that even with their white the petals they do show a shadowy crinkle detail as they salute the sun, so I stamped the image off to make it pale crumb cake. Really looking forward to trying out a strong purple for the petals with the contrasting yellow centres.

Stamp set: Daisy Lane
Card stock: Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Old Olive,
Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake
Accessories: Daisy Punch and Medium Daisy Punch,
Perennial Essence Floral Centres

I mean, makes you Smile right?
Keep on being inspired by nature,

Little birds and Lace

Somehow, this summer I'm obsessed with Broderie Anglaise and the new Stitched Lace die with Scalloped edging really reminds me of this summer fabric. I wanted the colour behind to enhance the pattern and be a striking contrast, so my choice was Bermuda Bay.

Stamp Set: Free as a Bird (cling)
Card stock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Crumb cake
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Blends in Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake
Accessories: Stitched Lace and Stitched Nested Labels Dies,
Bird Ballad Trinkets

Colouring in, just what's needed when the weather keeps us in!
Keep on card making, GenGen xxxx
