Blow out the candle - card 9!

As always when I have a workshop or deadline of any sort I like to create my own design, even if I have been inspiring myself with Pinterest or the SU demonstrators resources. With this challenge I had ordered the Birthday sets in the Main Catalogue that caught my eye ;-)

Any excuse!

Stamp set: Birthday Banner
Card Stock: Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Bunch of Banners Framelits, Star embossing folder

Less is more ;-) and as before I have copied the design with different colours, Real Red, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry to add to the charity card count! (13)

As this charity card weekend has continued I have decided to make 21 cards in the weekend, and send along the 9 from my stash as an added bonus, so 30 for Alder Hey RMCH but only 21 cards added to the SU challenge weekend :-)

Charity Card 8!

With the Color Theory Suite series are a delightful set of 6"x6" designer series papers, with some ombre effects, this one is separated by white bands, very reminiscent of paint charts I think. The papers make such fantastic backgrounds and I also used the differing colour shades for the bunch of balloons!

Stamp Set: Window Shopping and Balloon Celebration
Card Stock: Color Theory DSP stack, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Rick Razzleberry Ombre Ink Pad
Accessories; Triple Corner Punch, Corner punch

Simply not possible to have TOO many balloons for a party,
or too much cake ;-)

Charity Card 7!

Sometimes, you want a card to be straight talking! I also wanted to make sure I was including cards for boys/men in my selection of cards, as I could EASILY get carried away with all things floral!

Stamp set: Marquee Messages (with "Party like a Rock Star" inside)
Card Stock: Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Inks: Archival Black Ink Pad, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point Stampin' Write Markers and Watercolour pencil and Blender Pen for the downward arrow ;-)

I am SO tempted to make a little party hat, like the one the dog wears in the New Annual Catalogue on page 45 :-)

Card 2 - and a little cheat!

Although I use the Main Catalogue for inspiration, I still like to have my own take on format. The Fresh Florals DSP is so versatile that I have used it for this card too, as the designer series paper does the hard work for you, less is more ;-)

Card Stock: Powder Pink, Fresh Florals DSP Powder Pink
Stamp: Stylized Birthday
Ink: Powder Pink
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Thinlit

The cheat comes by copying the design of this card for the remaining 4 In colours

Exactly the same for Berry Burst, but Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig I used Whisper White with the matching inks for the circular Birthday Greeting. So the cheat is card 3, 4, 5 & 6, but half way there to my own challenge!

My own charity card challenge!

As always, time has raced past and deadlines to organise events to create cards for charity passed me by!
However, I can create cards for the charity myself,
and share my efforts here!
As my nephew who had heart surgery at the age of 3 months will be 21 next February, I decided that I would aim to send 21 cards to the Alderhey Ronald McDonald Charity House.
Riffling through my card stash I had 9 Birthday cards already made and in the parcel to go!
That leaves 12 to make . . . and number 1 looks like this!

This challenge is an ideal time to familiarise myself with my new catalogue goodies, here I've used the New In Colours for 2017-2019 ;-)

Card Stock: Lemon Lime Twist. Whisper White and Fresh Floral DSP Stack in Powder Pink
Stamp Set: Birthday Banners
Ink: Powder Pink
Accessories: Detailed Floral Thinlit Die, Pink Sheer Ribbon and Washi Punch

10,000 card challenge for Ronald McDonald House Charities

Stampin' Up! is supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities with a 10,000 card challenge, with the first weekend being 23-25 June 2017. As I stayed in one of their houses on the Alderhey Hospital site when my nephew had open heart surgery 20 years ago, I thought I would add my small contribution to this campaign over the 3 days.

I had hoped to run a home workshop, but as always the time has raced past and I am too late to organise the event! So, I thought I would challenge myself over the 3 day time period to see how many Birthday cards I could make over the 3 days, so that they can be used by families using the charity houses while their loved ones are in hospital.

I love the idea that even at one of the most upside down times in your life there are hand made cards available for families that need them.

The Christmas Cheer Challenge will run from 1st-3rd December 2017, so contact me to book your charity card making event for this fantastic charity.

Co-ordination continues with New In Colours!

As always there are some retired elements that I hold on to, and framelits are one of the most difficult things to part with ;-)

This is the fabulous Fresh Florals Suite!

Stamp Set: Floral Phrases, Balloon Celebration
Ink: Fresh Fig
Card stock: Fresh Fig and Fresh Florals DSP Stack
Accessories: Retired framelits and Retired Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon

Kind of goes without saying ;-) Keep on Crafting, GenGen xxxx
