#simplestamping

The upcoming new main catalogue means that there is a focus on retiring products and as demonstrators, this months challenge is to use at lease one retiring In colour in a card of any theme. I love how these monthly challenges focus my card making on specific colours and allow me to play with stamp sets that I haven't had a lot of time to indulge myself with.

Stamp Sets: Forever Lovely, Perennial Birthday
Ink: 2017-2019 In Colours Berry Burst,
Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist
Card stock: Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White

At this point in Spring when the gorgeous green is bursting forward, this Lemon Lime Twist really reminds me the natural green we see all around, perfect for a Springtime Birthday. I find this stamp set works well when you brayer the ink onto the stamp, as then you can manage the amount of ink that the stamp takes up, as sometimes the detail of the stamp is lost if your ink pads are too juicy ;-)

Keep on indulging your crafty side,

Belated Bunny!

Easter is one of my favorite times of year, and my garden is visited by hopping bunnies, as our garden backs onto a small wood.

This was the ideal excuse to use some of the goodies that I've been stock piling, but my available time was a little tight, so not everyone's Easter card was this detailed ;-)

Stamp set: Best Bunny, Crackle Background
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake
Card stock: Gingham Gala 6"x6" DSP,
Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Powder Pink
Accessories: Bunny Builder Punch, Calypso Coral Organza Ribbon

Hop into your crafty zone ;-)

Raindows need rain!

I have a great niece who has a serious passion for Unicorns and the recent Let It Ride stamp set gave me the idea of drawing in a unicorn horn to make her 10th Birthday card quite magical ;-)

I also used Brusho crystals to make the rainbow background, using the colours as inspiration for the Birthday Banners 🌈

Stamp Set: Let it Ride, star stamp from a Halloween set
and birthday greeting retired
Ink: Grey Archival, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight,
Old Olive, Pacific Point
Card Stock: Whisper White, Sparkle Glimmer Paper,
Thick white card stock and co-ordinating colours for banners
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds stampin' glitter,
Bunch of Banners Framelit dies

Card making IS magical ;-)

April Catch Up!

Somehow, April is a reasonably busy Birthday month, with the added bonus of Easter this year too!

After the excitement of my brother's half century Birthday last year, I thought I should make this year's card a little more muted. I do love the neutral tones, with the woodgrain theme.

Stamp set: Rooted in Nature, Birthday Wishes For You
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb cake
Card Stock: Nature's Poem and Wood textures DSP
Accessories:5/8" Burlap Ribbon

Keep stamping, naturally ;-)

Third time lucky ;-)

There are always times when your initial card design doesn't quite go to plan, it starts when you don't quite glue the sentiment straight . . .
So you straighten it up with a foil border . .
. . . and then finally balance up the card with foil numbers for the significant Birthday
Stamp sets: Sheltering Tree, Eclectic Birthday, Hello Cupcake
Card stock: Wood Textures DSP, Whisper White, Copper Foil
Ink: Sahara Sand, Grey Granite, Crumb Cake,
Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Accessories: Call me Cupcake Framelit dies, 1/4" Copper Trim, and retired small number dies and enamel dots ;-)

Keep on crafting,
even if it takes more than one attempt,
