Hooray for Holidays!

Have had this week off - woo hoo!

There is a lot to be said for stopping the world to get off from time to time, and how can you indulge yourself over your Birthday week, when you are working? Hee hee hee!

HAVE to share with you one of my presents . . .

My fabulous husband made this ribbon shelving unit for me and as you can see by the super quick filling of it I am TOTALLY thrilled. It is helping me go some way towards getting more order and organisation in my craft room - at least that's what I am telling myself ;-)

During my week off it has been sensational Sophie's Birthday,
and as she is celebrating 4's also,
I thought I would show you her card, so here it is. . .

Stamp Set: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Melon Mambo
Card stock: Brights Designer Series Paper for the background, Silver Glimmer paper for stars and number, Letters in Pacific Point, Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum, Melon Mambo, Bashful Blue and Pool Party
Misc: 2 1/2" Scalloped Dots ribbon in Melon Mambo, Rhinestones for Happy Birthday Banner and a retired pink button for the central flower, Big Shot Simple numbers and letters.

And here's something that wasn't on the To Do List, but I was inspired by Vicky's blog which you can hopefully take a look at via this link http://vickylouscorner.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/a-great-use-for-stampin-up-buttons.html and following her idea I made these . .

So I thought I would start by using SU buttons, as have quite a button collection, the possibilities are endless! Keep on crafting, Gen Gen xxx

Happy Birthday Brother!

My marvellous middle brother had his 45th Birthday on the 19th April and here is the card I made for him. As you can tell I'm getting quite carried away with this stamp set!

Stamp sets: Patterned Party, Delightful Dozen, SAB Patterned Occasions
Card stock: Red Glimmer paper, Brushed Silver, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Midnight Muse, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight
Misc. : 2 3/8" and 1 3/4" Scallop circle punches and 1 3/8" circle punch.

I really love colouring stamps with stampin' markers allows you to highlight candle flames and have even more fun with your stamp sets.

Wind swept wishes

Thought I had better try to show you a little of what I've been up to, and as I write this our house is being buffeted by pretty extreme winds, so thought this card was the best way to start. This is my first experiment with the seriously fun Pinwheel Sizzlits S Die, and I made this to illustrate to a friend the difference between a normal brad on the left and a mini brad on the right. It was also a fabulous excuse to try out my Finishing Touches Edgelits for the Old olive grass and Melon Mambo bottom edge. I think I prefer the DSP windmill as it is just more pliable, and fantastic with the contrast on the reverse.

It's that year where quite a lot of my friends are hitting 40 - amazing as I continue to be 21!!
This is Patterned Party stamp set, using Illuminese ink on Midnight Muse card stock, Real Red embossing powder for the Happy Birthday banner and of course Red Glimmer paper for the numbers!

And my last quick share is a variation with the same stamp set, with Real Red and Midnight Muse colour way again, with some retired DSP, but quite handy for a male card.

Happy Easter!

As always, I am running close to the deadline with my Easter Wishes, and often missing the postal deadline, but it's the thought that counts!

Stamp set: Everybunny, Wacky Wishes
Ink: Basic black
Card stock: Whisper white, Pool party, SAB Sycamore Street DSP
Misc.: Decorative label punch

With this biting cold some of my Easter cards were an illustration of the current climate, all signs of spring waiting in the wings.

Stamp set: Retired Easter Blossom
Ink: Early Espresso
Card stock: Naturals Ivory
Misc.: Postage stamp punch and Natural 7/16" Trim ribbon and Pearl jewels

You guessed it! Above is my less is more card, an Easter card for my dearest Dad. Here I've simply used the one Ovals collection framelit dies in my Big Shot with SAB Sycamore Street DSP and matching Island Indigo FREE ribbon then the Eggs from the Nature Walk set, also in Island Indigo ink.

And last but by no means least is my Easter card for my Green & Black friend.

Stamp set: Wacky Wishes
Card stock & Ink: Basic Black
Misc.: Ovals collection Framelit Dies, Elegant lines embossing folder, Gumball Green 3/8" stitched ribbon, Pearl jewels
